I’ve done a lot of things in my life – both hard and easy. I’ve been through the hardest but only one stands out.

I fell in love with the perfect girl. It’s not the hard part. I might have known I’m in love for quite a while - I’m just too scared to admit it because the perfect girl is my best friend. We’ve been best friends for almost our entire lives. I thought courting her is going to be easy just like before. I even knew then that everything will be perfect and easy once we become a couple.

She’s not like any other girl I’ve met though. She’s not a girl who’s easy-to-get as I call it. Courting her was the hardest I’ve done. During the process, I’ve changed a lot. I knew right then and there she’s the one for me. And I still believe on that same thing. I know I’ll do everything for her – I will protect her and be there for her no matter what which I did and will still do. I was still courting then and yet I already knew I’ll be willing to give her everything even if she doesn’t ask me to. It’s very hard because I’m not even that kind of person. I do things when I have the girl – not while trying to get the girl.

When we became a couple, it’s as hard as courting her. Bittersweet is the perfect adjective. Hard and yet I was willing to change for her – cliché as it sounds but I want to be a better man for her. Despite the fights, I want her to be proud of me and to be proud of the relationship we have.

I worked hard for her and for the relationship. And yes, it is the hardest I did ever – to put so much effort for a girl and for a relationship that’s got no assurance in the future. I don’t have any regrets though. Courting her and being with her was the hardest. But it’s the one thing I know I don’t want to change.

That moment when you can actually feel the pain in your chest from hearing something or seeing something that breaks your heart.
